Lindsay Lohan and other celebrities fined for advertising cryptocurrency

The US Federal Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has accused several celebrities of promoting Tronix and BitTorrent cryptocurrencies without disclosing the amount of income they received.

The list includes actress Lindsay Lohan, porn actress Kendra Last, blogger Jake Paul, musicians Lil Yachty, Ne-Yo, Akon, Austin Mahon and Soulja Boy. All but the last two agreed to pay a fine totaling more than $400,000.

The commission also filed lawsuits against the creator of the Tron platform Justin Sun and his companies Tron Foundation Ltd., BitTorrent Foundation Ltd. and Rainberry Inc. related to market manipulation. Note that Sun is the representative of Grenada in the World Trade Organization.
