In a statement announcing the record last year, Jonas called his new offering a “celebration of gratitude, hope, and love.” He said the songs “reflect on my life from a bird’s-eye view acknowledging the many blessings around me,” touching on his experiences of “being a father, being a friend to oneself and others, and the happiness I’ve found in doing what I love for a living.”

Music for People Who Believe in Love marks Jonas’ second solo album, following his 2011 effort Fastlife. After that album, Jonas founded the band DNCE, which released a self-titled debut in 2016. The Jonas Brothers reunited in 2019 and have since released two records, 2019’s Happiness Begins and last year’s The Album.
onas led Music for People with “Work It Out” last summer. Jonas previously told the Therapuss With Jake Shane podcast that he worked on the album with Alexander 23, Justin Trainor, Tommy English, MUNA’s Josette Maskin, Paris Carney, and more. “We made an album in two to three weeks,” he added. “Just two rooms all at once and I’m just really excited. It’s the most personal music I have ever put out.”
